Hang a floating mantel over the fireplace with no visible support. The plate bolts to a wall stud, a solid steel dowel sticks out, and the mantel slides onto it.

Product details
- Dowel lengths: 6.5, 9.5 and 12.5 in, measured from the edge of the mounting plate
- Mounting plate: 2.5 in wide x 8 in tall x 3/16 in thick, 6 holes (1/4 in)
Use & care
- Choose a dowel at least half the mantel depth: 6.5 in for a 10 in deep mantel, 9.5 in for a 14 in deep mantel. Allow for the drywall thickness
- Mount with 1/4 in lag screws, 1.5 in long, into pre-drilled pilot holes, and level the holes
- Drill a 3/4 in hole into the back of the mantel to the dowel length, add a dab of adhesive and slide the mantel on
About weight limits: Right On Bracket's ratings assume a professional install into wood studs or blocking with quality hardware. Drywall anchors will not hold the same weight.
